Garden Court is the downtown one, with Il Fornaio.

The property you mentioned is called the Stanford Park hotel. I've never stayed or eaten there (Yelp is reporting that the Duck Club has closed). Amazingly, I don't think I know anyone who has ever mentioned the place! It's just over the border in Menlo Park on the east side of El Camino Real.

Some of the hotels in South Palo Alto along El Camino are also real dumps. The Mariott chain hotels and Dinah's are exceptions to that. Next time you are driving down the road, take a good look at the "Glass Slipper Inn," for example, as representative of this genre -- broken neon sign and all!
