You make it sound like all the Marriott Plats got together and agreed they didn't want free breakfast at (non-Asian) resorts.

(most, or at least those paying attention) Marriott Plats know they don't get free breakfasts at (non-Asian resorts) and they make their paid and award stay reservations with that knowledge in mind. Some choose to avoid resorts, some stay at resorts but gripe and make the FDC's lives miserable, and some stay and plan to make other arrangements for breakfast.

The fact is that it is not the FDC or individual hotel line managers making this decision, so yelling at them probably does little to change the policy.
