For several years, my hotels of choice have been One Aldwych, The Halkin or the Athenaeum, on the higher end, and the London Hilton Metropole or the Intercontinental when looking for something more moderate. I'm coming back next week, and wouldn't mind trying something different, especially if there were a hotel that was particularly "interesting," by which I mean modern, sleek and sophisticated, one that perhaps attracts a "hip" crowd, in the more sophisticated and less trashy sense of that word (if that makes sense!). I think One Aldwych and The Halkin fit this definition, but I also wouldn't mind something a little (or perhaps a lot) edgier, perhaps in a neighborhood with good bars and other nightlife.

I recognize this ask is somewhat vague, but I'd love to entertain suggestions.
