We just stayed at the Four Points in Lexington Kentucky, and I opted for the Platinum Breakfast amenity. When I presented the coupon in the morning when I showed up with my wife I was told that this coupon is only good for one person! I went to the desk and they said that is the official policy. I told them that is impossible, as I have had breakfast with my wife as a Platinum amenity at more than 20 Starwood hotels (Le Meridiens, Sheratons and Westins, but never a Four Points) and this was the first hotel to raise that it was only for one. They said that they would give me a second coupon because I am such a "nice" guest, but I also called the SPG Platinum line while waiting. The woman I spoke with said that she needed to check (which surprised me, as I thought this was clear). She came back and said that her supervisor told her it is a matter of policy of the individual hotel. Meanwhile, the other desk agent said that it is also only for one morning, so that if you have a 5 night stay you only get one breakfast. I told her that is definitely not the case. I was surprised about the ignorance on this issue, and also the lack of clarity on the first issue.
