Nah, it was pretty consistent. On the return, QF was always Q class, and AA codeshare S. Of course, this is cheapie economy.
Also, the messaging from AA last November was relatively misleading, where you get miles on QF flights (even QF marketed flights). Yes, you may get miles -- but not EQM.

Point I am making is check the return flight. Consistently, the outgoing flight was in an ok class. Gotta check the chart
