Just one thing to put in the mix: Thanksgiving (as you are referring to it) is strictly an American thing for the last Thursday in November. Other countries celebrate the equivalent holiday on different days or not at all.

So, there is little reason for business traffic to/from UK to be any different on that day than most other days. The flights may not be as empty as you suppose.
