Forgive me for what may be a stupid question obviously based on ignorance : why can't UA personnel/mretal be used? Are there two airlines operating as UA?

As someone who flies cross country regularly I feel for OP. I'd also consider SEA and LAX, the latter which I did once after missing a flight to IAD (pre-merger)
