AS doesn't have a mechanism in place to provide periodic incentives for additional flying. In fact, before they had the 75K tier, the only thing they offered was a single lump of bonus miles at 75K miles flown and then nothing after that. They probably should do something like UA does, where every 25K flown after 1K gets you two more RPUs (like MVPG guest upgrade certs, but actually usable on all fares
) and every 50K after 1K gets you two GPUs. It costs them almost nothing but gives just enough incentive to book the travel with them instead of with another carrier.
If you do want to try to hold dual status, check and see if AA is offering any EXP challenges. I think they cost money, but it might be worth it in your case. I think UA would give you a Plat challenge for free, too.
