Regarding Iberia seat allocation - yes go through Iberia and you should be able to choose howver I notice that if the flight is op by A340, they just allocate a seat and that you cannot change it. maybe it just my experience....but no probs on A320 or 321 to choose and move etc.

On the A340 I've been always able to select a seat (and that's via BA MMB). I've always booked business on that flight though, if I was flying economy I'd go out of my way to select a BA operated flight whenever possible.
