The fact it's a 5* hotel is irrelevant to what to expect upgrade wise... what type of hotel (e.g. Hilton, WA etc.) will affect what (if anything) your status will entitle you to. As Diamond I would anticipate an upgrade at most properties... but likewise as a Diamond who has earnt zillions of points previously, you must have some experience as to what you've recieved at other properties in the past...?
Not sure why you're worried about naming the property here, but if you did I'm sure people would provide feedback of their experiences. Likewise given you know the property you could search the forum for the experience of others in terms of upgrades etc. There will most likely be a Review thread for the property and additional information in terms of upgrades/ breakfast threads etc.
There is always the option to upgrade (for cash or points) before check-in, it doesn't mean you're not going to recieve one anyway.
