Credit cards are accepted (almost) everywhere. However I would be inclined to take cash (USD) and change them into QAR at an exchange house as it will probably be cheaper than using a credit card.

If you want to dine in fine hotels I would budget QAR 300 per person per meal. Otherwise I would budget QAR 150 per person per meal.

For taxis I would budget QAR 50 each way from the airport and QAR 20 each way for other journeys.
