Since more than two weeks' notice was given, BA has no further obligation than to offer a choice of rerouting or refund.

Asking nicely might get a contribution towards a taxi or overnight accommodation the night before. But note that train services run all through the night to LGW, so I'm not sure whether it's true that they can't get there for an 0700 flight or just haven't fully researched the options.
