I had some orphaned MP miles, which I redeemed for an award flight on UA. I have *A Gold status with Air Canada. I'm unable to change my frequent flyer number in ual.com. Whenever I try, it defaults to my UA number. Obviously, I'd like to avoid the checked baggage fees, and I should think form of payment wouldn't matter (e.g. miles, credit/debit card, etc.). Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
