Doesn't necessarily help.
Take the MH A380 arriving at LHR T4, Gate 6. The Upper airbridge (which allows egress from the J cabin) then feeds into a corridor which doubles back on itself, which then leads to a circular ramp to bring you down to the same level as the Lower airbridges, disgorging you into the corridor just prior to entering the terminal.
By the time you've hit this final corridor, the Y passengers are already making their way along this. You're still toward the front, but not necessarily at it (unless you're F!)
The layout proposed for the BA A380s may mitigate this (since they appear to be looking to split J across the two decks) but my point is that the airport infrastructure may impede perceived advantages for premium cabins.
