If you're seeking AA miles and have UR points to use, I don't understand what's WR-specific about your quesiton. (Only the tale of why you're in this situation is WR-related in the least bit, that I can tell.)

AA miles can be converted from lots of sources, not just WR. So even though WR does not participate in points.com's Point Xchange program, you might want to look into that.

Plus, when's the last time you applied for a Citi AA card?
