I don't agree. Unless there have been actual cases of the 77W swapped for a 772, there's no reason to believe AA will do so arbitrarily, out of the schedule. Maintenance issues can of course happen, but AA at LAX has quite a few 772s as well (to Asia and to MIA).

Though I will agree that it's not worth the time wasted just to fly the 77W.
