March will be winter here. Be prepared for snow. In fact, while you might be lucky and get nice weather here in April, you're also likely to get some snow through at least the first half of April as well. But the mountains will look great on a nice day.

September is usually pretty nice. October is hit and miss. I remember some wonderful Octobers, but there have been times were it just starts snowing as well.
