For Star Alliance carrier flights, it's usually no more than 2 weeks. If it's more than a few weeks then there must be a problem.
There were 26 of us all on a star alliance flight
It took 4 to 5 months to get our points
The air points came in march 2013
The status points were backdated to October
When the status points arrived I had already moved to GE so effectively the SP were lost
As when you gain GE the counter goes to zero and any backdating has no impact
If I had been gold when I got the backdating if the SP they would have counted to GE
Its a quirke they said they cant fix as it involves movinh your GE wualification date and they can't change that
