No way to combine. If doing it that way then try to allow extra time for delays and missed connections.

Although its not a given EI are usually better than others with two seperate tickets and missed connections due to their own metal being delayed connecting to their own metal but of course that is never guranteed and they are not obliged to re book you if on seperate tickets. Travel insurance covering missed connections highly recommended.
