well looking at train prices and talking to amex travel (since I have a $200 credit I want to use with them) it looks like trains from munich-salzburg then salzburg to geneva are gonna run about $1000CAD for 2 people.

Rental car with one way fees is gonna be about $600CAD and it lets us go off the beaten path, so I think I am leaning that way.

As for our dates, we will land in Munich on Aug 3rd evening, and fly out of GVA the morning of the 11th.

I know my wife has wanted to go see Salzburg. I have always wanted to see Eagles Nest (which looks not too far from Salzburg).

Preliminary thoughts are Salburg - Eagles Nest - Innsbruck - St. Moritz - Lucerne - Geneva.

Not concerned with Zurich since we have a day there as stopover on the way to Munich.

I would love to have a path that would take me on those great twisty roads through the mountains.

The path isn't set either, other than starting in Salzburg and ending in Geneva.
