You better be proactive with this!
Go to pda.continental.com and change to text option. Go into the online check-in process and check your seat there - if it still shows --- then click the --- which should be a link and go into the seatmap and re-select your original seat and complete the check-in process again.
Make sure you're taking screenshots of everything for proof
