My friend has an appointment in the afternoon on that day, so he cannot take the earlier flight. Postponing to the flight on 11:55 on the next day is not an feasible option either. Can he request a change to flights on other airlines?

I know some airlines do this in case of significant changes, but I don't know if QR follows suit. The lack of partners of QR flying into FCO adds hurdles towards a better change of itinerary. Only two partners US and ME (Middle East Airlines) fly into FCO but they do not help on this itinerary. What about non-partners?

Thanks for all input!
