Would definitively look at a Brisbane (BNE) to London (LHR or LGW) return. Paris to London by railway, via the chunnel, is easy & frequent. A lot more options will show up. Like Emirates - Qantas and more Asian / Middle East carriers. I think Malaysian airlines is flying the new A380 Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to London (LHR)

If you a little brave could try BNE-Paris return, but harder with language on the first days
