You said that the $100 would be deducted from the check, and unless you mentioned employee paycheck in the title of your post, I would have understood what you meant to be $100 deducted from your check/bill/folio at your own check out. Did someone specifically say that the $100 Platinum Arrival Gift Marriott Guarantee would be deducted from the front desk (or someone else's) employee paycheck?

Marriott's policy is not to deduct the $100 for Platinum Guarantees from anyone's check of any kind.

The policy for all Platinum Guarantees is CASH IN HAND, and ALSO, for the guest to receive the guarantee if they HAVE NOT received the welcome gift, not for the guest to receive the welcome gift AND the guarantee, which kind of defeats the purpose of either the welcome guarantee or the guarantee itself. Or is there something you were not being clear about? If you will clarify, I will try to give you a better answer.
The employee came to our room and stated the 100 would be deducted from his paycheck. This guilted me into accepting the beer. Strange behavior, I believe driven by a manger trying to game their performance metrics.
