And my starter of salmon and tuna
I had the butter chicken for mains and it was simply sublime…
And to end a stunning warm crumble with strawberries and passion fruit coulis
During this time the service was amazing. The cabin supervisor came and introduced herself to me as well. My glass was never empty and I was greeted by name every time. We had two FA’s for our part of the cabin (about 12 seats)
I was also given a pair of very comfortable pyjamas. I have never seen PJs handed out in J.
Although the flight was a good 8 hours, it was a day flight and I had no intention of sleeping. However, I could not wait to try the bed for comfort!
QR has a very soft and thick quilt for sleeping.
The bed itself was super comfortable. What I like about the bed is that it does not recline under the seat in front of you. UA’s ex CO BF seats, for example, have a cutout for your feet in the seat in front of you which I found very cramped and uncomfortable. Once again this denotes the masses of space QR gives.
In fact, the bed was so comfy that I drifted off for an hour or so sometime during the flight…
About an hour from DOH an arrival snack was served which consisted of a combination of sweet and savoury delights:
After circling for a bit, touchdown in DOH was smooth. DOH airport itself was not smooth at all though… With the building of the new airport, everything is in shambles. There are no air bridges and everyone (J and Y pax) are crammed onto a bus and shuttled to the terminal building. For this purpose, at checking everyone is provided with a colour coded transfer sleeve for easy identification.

I was looking forward to the premium terminal QR has for F and J pax. Sadly, this was not to be as I was upgraded and not on a full paying J ticket
The terminal was a joke and stretched for miles!
Before long it was time to board (no priority again, as all premium pax will be in the premium terminal!) Our bus took us to the 333 for the flight. Interesting is that all economy pax disembarked the bus and boarded the plane from the back, but we were told to stay on the bus and the bus took us to the front of the plane where we boarded.
Once again we were shown to our seats and the champagne flowed once more!
The 333 was configured for an F cabin as well but the cabin was empty. J was packed to the rafters.

I was one of the first on board which gave me the chance for some pictures:
The 333 did not have flat bed seats, but for a flight of 3 and a half hours, I slept for 2 and found it pretty comfy:
While boarding was still commencing I quickly snapped the Y cabin which was about 90% full again.
I chuckled at the Abercrombie guy’s eyebrow dance in the safety video
Meal orders were taken and I opted for the sea bass which was served shortly after take-off. Absolutely divine!
