I have cruised out of FLL many times.

My advise....do not select a hotel based on shuttle to/from hotel/port.

We don't even use the service if it is free. Taxis are so cheap and readily available. The shuttles are often packed and my husband looked at me years ago and said, "I'm not getting on that shuttle to save $10." We both laughed--realized how silly it was (you spend thousands of dollars and then do everything you can to save $10--ha!), and have never taken another shuttle again.

Plus we love the freedom of leaving when we feel like it!

I'm Platinum w/Marriott and Diamond w/Hilton. But we've been staying at the Renaissance the last half-dozen or so times because we LOVE opening up the curtains in the am and seeing the ship!

Great hotel....
