Just wanted to provide evidence of this past week's activity as there alway seem to be queries about tier changes, rate of AA [and other airline] posting and end of year resets. I think I had a textbook example of how it should work when the status change is also coinciding -- down to the day -- with the end of membership year.
- Monday 6 May: LAX-IAD in AA F [current TP balance 1340, status Silver]
- Wednesday 8 May: 210 TP posted to account from previous flight. Fast! BAEC homepage shows balance as 1550 but still Silver, I had expected this as told tier change not immediate on TP posting. However, when clicking "how many avios to next tier" [as I remember the link] I am told I have reached Gold. Glichy!
- Thursday 9 May: TP balance reset to 0 as now in the new membership year. BAEC homepage still shows me as Silver but...
- Check-in on iPhone app for flight later that day gives me a boarding pass with Gold status on BP as well as other areas of the app.
- Thursday 9 May: IAD-LHR in WTP** But no "congratulations Mr NTFM" via the iPad from the otherwise delightful CSD

- Friday 10 May: BAEC home page now showing Gold status with 0 TP
- Saturday 10 May: 90 TP for flight posted to account
**After months of checking, upgrade seats opened up across all three IAD flights sometime M/Tu/W of this week [had last checked on the weekend before with no luck but on Weds they were there] so actually flew CW but obviously original paid booking class is what posted. Unable to upgrade online, [ie could never attempt upgrade because of generic error message and so made dummy bookings outside of MMB to check inventory]. This presumably because this segment had been changed from a BOS return months ago. Knew from this forum that I would need to call BAEC UK to upgrade as my account UK based. In my bones I knew I would always have to call to get the upgrade even though separate BA agents had told me earlier that the error message i received when trying to upgrade online was due to there being no upgrade inventory. In this instance I wish the ba.com was just that bit more robust to handle upgrades when tickets have been tampered with, so to speak. But I got my comfy seat in the end but had to make sure to place my call with respect to UK time zone / office closure.
Summary: very pleased with speed of posting and tier move. ba.com remains a little glitchy, particularly when your ticket has at all been modified. Now to crowd out First lounges and self-serve myself copiously on all this champagne I keep hearing about.
