another free case is SDC for Gold and higher. $75 sounds like a SDC fee for non-elites, so if you are Gold or higher -- it is waived. If as you posted earlier you are not an elite -- you got lucky, agent made an error.

Otherwise N is rock bottom fare class and has the most restrictive change policies. Why did you think there was no change fee on N?? (with the exception of within 24 hours of purchase or SDC elite waiver or irrops)?

And to your earlier question - N fares if purchase through normal channels does earn miles on UA/UX metal (RDMs/PQMs).
