The constraint is more likely to be DL's drop dead cutoff time of one hour for check in and bag drop for international BE. Even if you're next in line, they say that the computer won't permit overrides. Moreover, the kiosks cut off before an hour, directing you to an agent, which adds to the stress and time required. IMO a half hour from airport bus drop off to find the DL check in counter and get completely checked in is cutting it close. Even with OLCI and no bags to check, the boarding pass might still require you to show your travel documents to a DL agent before the one hour cutoff.
