Thanks again to all for the very helpful responses. I'm leaning towards splitting the baby and going with the "Airport" Hilton. Closer to town than the Blu, and closer to DUB than the Conrad. I'll look at the Crowne Plaza as well.

We'll be driving into DUB from Slane and returning our rental at DUB before midday the day before our flight. My original plan was to ditch our bags at an airport hotel and bus/cab into Dublin for a quick visit to Trinity and perhaps dinner before cabbing it back out to an airport hotel. I want to avoid a stressful morning before the flight, but I was really taken aback by some of the Rad. Blu DUB reviews.
