I would say it is up to the check-in person you are talking to. If it is a lot of people checking in for an earlier flight, I've had people "turn me down", but if it is calm, it should probably be fine.

And as we all know, it doesn't really matter what the TK website says... it's all up to the person we interact with at TK at the moment that matters.
