Now that we know the diversion was because of a fire indication warning, the crew will have made immediate diversion to closest airport able to handle 77W. This was Winnipeg. In a situation where there is a potential fire, aircraft must land ASAP, and things like immigration or better suited airports for PAX do not apply.
