ETA - So if you are legacy CO person, this is how you are used to having refunds processed where there is a change fee associated processed. That is, the change fee gets taken and then a refund is processed for the residual balance due on the fare.

No. The money is at your credit card issuer. If it was your account, you are entitled to the money - write/call the issuer. There have been some instances ( not accusing you) of some trying to personally get surplus funds sitting on a company-issued credit card or airline travel credit which is not only wrong, but hard to circumvent. If I was a business owner paying for employee travel, I would like the way the system's currently set up. Reduces fraud.
