Before opening the thread, my first thought was Newport Beach MVCI. We spent a week out there and had a great time.

No 2 days were the same. We did a beach day, a pool day, an LA day, a San Diego day, and two days meandering around the various ocean towns up and down the coast. Even without the LA and SD days (those would be long days for toddlers), you could easily add another beach day or do any number of other things within a 10-20 minute drive of the hotel. A couple of the ocean towns nearby had walkable shopping areas on the water.

Very, very good property overall. We'd go back for sure. ^ To us, the entire area is much more interesting than Florida. Plus if you get an amusement park itch, they have those nearby as well.
