Krisflyer refuses to book SQ11 as a connecting flight

I'm currently booked on SQ11 as the one-stop flight LAX-SIN, but not on my preferred dates. I've been checking regularly to see if the flight has opened on the day that I'd like to travel, and have found that both LAX-NRT and NRT-SIN (the following day) have availability.

I called Krisflyer to book the flight as a connection, because the website only allows bookings on the one-stop flight or LAX-NRT//HND-SIN, but the agent and a supervisor refused to do so. First I was told it was a system limitation, then I was told by the supervisor that the flights don't meet the minimum connection time in Tokyo. The supervisor didn't seem to understand my argument that it's absurd that the flight could be sold as a one-stop if the airline doesn't think that a passenger has time to get off the plane and re-board if booked as a connection.

I finally gave up and waitlisted the one-stop flight, but later checked the MCT tables for NRT and found this:

Code:
MCT*NRT/SQ-SQ DD DI II ID
STANDARD: NRT* 020 110 110 130
TERMINAL: NRT* 1 TO 1 030 100 060 100
                       1 TO 2 050 110 090 110
                       2 TO 1 050 110 090 110
                       2 TO 2 030 100 090 100
EXCEPTIONS:
CC FLT-NBR TL CO DPTARV
SQ 0011 1 070
SQ 0011 1
As you can see, the MCT for SQ11 is 70 minutes, and the connection time is actually 105 minutes! I can't tell if the supervisor was lying to me to get out of booking the flights, or just misinformed.

Has anyone had luck booking SQ11 as LAX-NRT and NRT-SIN separately?
