Corporate travel policy - boycott to afternoon tea or brunch
Received today a very interesting email outlining changes in the travel policy at the company I work for.
We use BA as our preferred airline. We used to have an all-J travel policy, but from June this is changing. And this is where it gets interesting:
Longhaul - no changes
Shorthaul for flights of 3:30 and over - still J
Shorthaul for flights under 3:30 - still J except if your departure time is between 9:30 and 11:59 or 14:00 to 16:59.
If these time bands sound familiar to some of you, it's because they are. These are the time bands for the infamous "brunch" and "afternoon tea" meals in CE.
Whoever thought of this policy is a genius. I don't think that the aim is to reduce cost by much as not a lot of people fly at these times anyway but mostly to stop the company from being subjected to highway robbery by being charged silly amounts of money for a slice of ham and a cherry tomato.
It would be great if more companies did this so that BA could stop the afternoon tea/brunch nonsense.
So, BA, if you are reading this, it appears that you shot yourselves in the foot this time. ^
