The change can't come too soon in my opinion. Yesterday's LHR-CAI A321 CW was an almost carbon-copy of my first such flight (four months ago on 8 January - BA doesn't appear to have learned any lessons in the interim), with delayed boarding and pre-flight drinks service due to hand baggage stowage issues.
Despite LHR T1 BA gate (74) staff making a token effort to have over-sized cabin bags put in the hold (I saw about 8-10 such bags taken from their owners) we still had the ridiculous scenario of BA cabin crew actively assisting WT passengers to cram as much hand baggage as possible into CW overhead bins - thereby making it impossible for CW passengers to access their own cabin bag during the flight.
This not only causes inconvenience; it can also be dangerous - as during a period of turbulence on my flight an overhead baggage door burst open.
