When she stood up I noticed she had a Diamond Medallion tag on her bag. She immediately started arguing with the paramedic that she couldn't go because she had checked luggage on the plane. He explained that the airline would hold their checked luggage for them. She continued arguing until she was finally assured by an Alaska agent that her checked luggage would be fine. This woman has a heart of ice. She didn't seem to be moved by the event whatsoever and on top of it she added drama to an already stressful situation by putting up a fight with her checked luggage. I'm hoping the guy will make a quick recovery.
People deal with grief/shock/illness differently. Yeah, the behavior is weird, but cut the person some slack. She just saw something frightening and shocking happening to someone she presumably at least likes, and perhaps loves. I'm sure, in retrospect, she'll laugh at the fact that she threw a fit about her checked luggage in the moment.
