Best one-way routing / mileage usage? NYC - AMS - TIA
Hey guys and gals,
I'm trying to come up with the most mileage efficient and fun way to complete this trip. I want to leave NYC on or around May 29th (I can also fly from DTW) and have to get to TIA. (Not sure about return date, hence one-way)
Now the one requirement is that I want to have a stopover in Amsterdam for ~2 days. Other than that, I want to utilize a 23 hour layover here and there to make the trip even more interesting. (very flexible and open to different locations)
I have miles with United, AA, and Delta.
The best I could come up with was NYC - LHR/LCY(possible overnight) - AMS with AA at 30000 for saver economy and AMS - MUC (~23 hours) - TIA at 12500.
I didn't bother at all with Delta since you can't do one way awards.
Any helpful advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
PS. Would booking an award round trip with stopovers/open jaws and hoping i can cancel the return due to schedule chances provide me with better options?
