I believe that most companies outsource repairs. I know our Apple repairs are returned from a third party, as our our Lenovo repairs, though in that case the third party is often IBM.

I'm wondering if anyone has heard of any local or national laws that address this issue. It would seem that the medical profession, covered by HIPAA, would have expressed concern as well.
