Is that a problem?

I did sit in the aft section and noticed a lack of padding. This was for 30 seconds or so during boarding as an experiment.

I'm not trying to be an Alaska cheerleader here, despite my obvious connection. If I thought the 900 ER's were awful I would probably just not post at all rather than say so. That said, I sat in a Y seat from SEA to BOS on one and it was totally fine for me. Not any worse or than the 800's seats. I also wanted to point out that passengers generally have made only unsolicited positive comments as they leave at the end of a flight on the 900ER, so judging solely on that I would say that most people have positive comments.
