Talk5555:
i usually try to see if i can get a free dinner voucher when i check into hotels like Conrad or full service Hiltons. They usually give them to me.
I'm curious. HOW do you request the "free" dinner voucher?
a) Thank you for checking me in, can I get a free dinner voucher?
b) I've had a long day, can I get a dinner voucher to ease my pain?
c) I'm paying a lot of money for this room, can I get a dinner voucher to ease my pain?
d) How dare you push me into a kiosk to check in!? I demand personalized service because I am a GOLD member. This is completely unsatisfactory, however, a free dinner voucher will ease my pain.
I'm curious because the way you post, it is not clear how you are asking. Your demeanor makes it sound like you are quite demanding and offended at not being treated with utmost respect. However, your casual "I usually try" makes it sound like you are already being treated fairly and with utmost respect when you ask for the dinner vouchers. (Which, to be fair, is an odd request in most hotel situations, since the rate you pay is for the room only.)
