The property I'm looking at is in Germany, but in Italy everyone is required to turn in their passports when they check in. They return them after a few hours. I think they look at your passport in France, too, don't they?

I might try the "she's only 12" if I was a European without a passport. But as an American it would be risky.

I booked a similar deal at the Hilton Toledo (Spain) last summer and it included a meal that was really nice. Some mention was made that my daughter was really supposed to order off the "kids" menu, but she didn't.
