My current flights to LAX are all on -800s, since I usually do early or late, but I might switch to 458 and do a report on the -900ER coach seat.
There aren't any particular routes they're dedicated to, AFAIK. I've seen them on everything from ANC-SEA to the PHL-SEA transcon. It just seems that every time someone I know gets a ride on one, they end up up front.
Is that a problem?
I did sit in the aft section and noticed a lack of padding. This was for 30 seconds or so during boarding as an experiment.
