Last week, I made A list Preferred, but I had two pre existing flights in/out of PHX.

Today's flight, PHX-MCI, I got A 28.

While standing in the queue to board, I saw the BP for both A26 and A 27. Neither one had A list printed on their pass. So, does this mean that WN can randomly assign non A listers
a vacant A number at online check in, basically ahead of everyone including EBCI?
Also, my BP only said A List. If you reach A+, should the BP state A list preferred, rather than A list?
