2A and 2K are not better when you are traveling with someone. When I am traveling alone, then I would agree.

We are not talking about a Silver taking a seat you would like. We are talking about a companion flying with a Gold.

I don't ask passengers to swap seats. I ask BA in advance for the seat assignment and I assumed, wrongly, that BA would extend the Gold seating to the flying companion of a Gold. While BA doesn't, it should.

Not that BA cares. If BA published this information in advance, or had bothered to tell me on any of the three calls I made to them, I would have known in advance and not wasted my time.

I'll instead just mark this down to yet another lapse in BA customer service. One of a long list.
