It could also be from the Asian Visa Infinite promo. As someone who got it that way I figure I don't want to rock the boat so I don't really ask for compensation, except for the one time my double-dip earning was switched from variable to fixed miles (time-zone difference so I thought I switched it after it was credited, but apparently not) on a 9-night Hampton stay (ended up getting 5k points dumped into my account, not entirely happy, but it's something and I don't want to get on anyone's bad side). I didn't know people could even get a free dinner.

Well, in the US and certain other countries. Most of the world still has to work for it or (in Asia) pay a
lot more for a Visa Infinite card (I remember one in China carrying an annual fee of 5500RMB- at $890-ish, that's even more than an AmEx Plat).
