I think it is also the case that there are really two very different levels of 'news' here. First the 'real' news is what AdJ says about the fact that Transform 2015 may well not be enough (what most of us had indeed, discussed for a long time as mentioned by
Goldorak) and more people might get essentially fired.
Then there is the 'second category', which is very different in the sense of being something not coming from AF per se, but instead, rather an 'interpretation' by a union representative from a very specific part of the group (a pilot from Regional). It is a bit like having the representative of the CGT telling you that the company's problems (which are acknowledged by all) are in fact related to someone else (in this case the Bases!)

There may be truth in it or not, but it is so obvious that the representative's role is to protect the interests of a specific part of the workforce, especially in the context of the 'real news' which again means that some people will need to be fired, that I would again take that particular person's stabbing one's little friends in the back with a generous pinch of salt. It is perfectly possible that the Bases Province may be a failure (although again, all I can say is that the flights I have taken myself from NCE to the likes of TLV or VCE were undoubtedly the most full AF flights I have taken within Europe in the last 12 months while many of the others I have been on from CDG especially this winter and also some regional flights from BOD were often over 50% empty) but even if so it would be most unlikely to account for much of AF's losses as it remains a very marginal part of the airline's operations and have significantly lower unit costs so there must be 'at least' something else bleeding cash at a worrying rhythm.
