Booking hotel dinner package with a child; what is definition of a child?

I'm making some Europe hotel reservations for my daughter (age 13) and me. When I search for rooms, I put in 1 adult and 1 child.

I found a hotel that is offering a great dinner package for about 100 Euros that includes breakfast, a gift basket and a four course meal with wine. This is barely more than the best flexible rate. In tinkering with it, I found that if I change the "child" to an adult the rate almost doubles.

Does anyone know what the definition of a "child" is in the world of Club Carlson? This is a great deal, but not so good if we get there and they tell me "child" means under 3 and the child can't eat in the restaurant.
