Didn't the merger of US and HP produce a multi-year dispute between the card issuers (US and HP had relationships with two different banks, Juniper and Barclays, IIRC).
Juniper is Barclay's. The HP card was Juniper, and PMUS had a BoA visa card. After the merger became final (I think about 9 month afterward), the BoA US card was discontinued and cardholders were converted to another BoA product. The Juniper HP card became the new Barclay's US Mastercard.

I got both cards for the sign up bonuses, merged my FF accounts, and redeemed for Envoy to Madrid. I regret nothing.
